Papic Named Sysco Student-Athlete of the Week

Nikloas Papic led the Bulldogs to three home wins last weekend over UC Irvine (4-3), Sonoma State (4-0) and Air Force (7-0) to improve Fresno State to 10-8, 2-3 MW on the season. Papic went 3-0 in singles play, winning all three of his points at No. 2 and 3. After being down 2-0 to Irvine, Papic won the first singles point for the 'Dogs to push for the 4-3 comeback win. In Saturday doubleheader, Papic then won his point on court two over Sonoma State for the Bulldogs second win of the day. Finishing the weekend strong, Papic to help shutout Air Force 7-0 in a Mountain West dual on Sunday by winning both his singles and doubles matches. Papic currently leads the 'Dogs with a 12-4 singles dual record, climbing all the way from No. 6 to No. 2. The Santiago, Chile native is a pre-business major in his sophomore year at Fresno State.
