FRESNO, Calif. - Looking ahead to this Friday's home football contest vs. conference rival San Diego State, Fresno State students will have their first chance to use mobile devices as actual tickets when they enter Bulldog Stadium for the 7 p.m. game on Oct. 3.
Students who purchased single-game football tickets online at www.GoBulldogs.com will now receive emails with a PDF file of a receipt and special bar-coded ticket on their devices.
IPhone users will also receive a Passbook account receipt for devices using versions of the IOS 6.0.0 operating system or newer (which was originally released in September 2012, and now updated to 8.0.2).
"Having the latest electronic mobile delivery option for our students and fans is the next tool to make the football game day experience the best it can be," said Paul Ladwig, Fresno State Athletics Senior Associate Director for External Relations. "We know our fans will enjoy this mobile option."
The state-of-the-art ticket innovation will increase the efficiency at entry points, thanks to new ticket-scanning technology from the `Dogs ticket provider Paciolan.
Similar technology is used at other major collegiate football stadiums at Alabama, Purdue, Tennessee, Texas, USC and West Virginia, and the Bulldog Ticket Office hopes to extend the new technology to other ticketed sports in the spring.
Other Fresno State football fans who purchase non-student single-game tickets can choose the same option when they order online.
Students can also still purchase printed single-game tickets at campus ticket outlets at the Bulldog Ticket Office (weekdays 8:30am - 5 p.m.) and University Student Union (Monday-Thursday 9 a.m.-7 p.m.; Friday 9 a.m.-4 p.m.).
Fans are also reminded that the Bulldog Ticket Office is now located on the northeast corner of the Save Mart Center. The Bulldog Ticket Office phone number is still the same - 559-278-DOGS (3647) - and open during normal business hours. The previous Bulldog Stadium Ticket Office is now only open on home football game days starting at 10 a.m.
This Friday's contest features the `Dogs (2-3, 1-0) against the Aztecs (2-2, 1-0) in the 1,000th football contest in Fresno State school history.
The `Dogs will also debut their new navy uniforms and chrome helmets at the tilt that has been dubbed the `Night in Navy' game.
The contest will also be televised live by CBS Sports and on the radio by ESPN 940 AM and ESPN Deportes 1600 AM.
