Team Notes
With the 66-62 victory on Saturday night, paired with the 69-66 win in Reno on January 10, Fresno State swept the season series from the Wolf Pack for the first time since 2001.
The Bulldogs have now won four of the last five meetings against Nevada.
Fresno State improved to 5-2 in the Mountain West, their first time starting 5-2 in conference since the 2004-2005 season.
Over the last 17 Mountain West games, the Bullogs have gone 13-4. They are the only team to win 13 of 17, with San Diego State winning 12 of their last 16 and New Mexico winning 12 of their last 17 being the next best marks.
The Bulldogs and Wolf Pack were tied at 29 at haltime. It was the first time this season Fresno State had been tied after the opening 20 minutes in the 2014-2015 season.
Nevada outrebounded the Bulldogs 47-33, but still found a way to win the ballgame and improved to 6-8 when outrebounded by the opposition.
Four Fresno State players scored in double figures and the Bulldogs are now 4-1 when they get four or more players with 10 or more points.
The seven blocked shots by Fresno State tied for the most in a game this season. They had previously reached seven blocks in a game against Utah State and Cal Poly.
Player Notes
Paul Watson - 18 points, 9 rebounds, 5 blocks
The sophomore from Phoenix scored in double figures for the fifth time in seven conference games ... His five blocked shots set a new career-high and bested his previous-best of four earlier this season against Texas Tech ... Watson tied his career-high with nine rebounds ... He had played at least 33 minutes in all but one conference game this year.
Marvelle Harris - 15 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists
Harris, the Mountain West's leading scorer at 18 points per game, reached double-figures for the 16th straight game and for the 18th time in 20 games ... Had the biggest sequence of plays in the game when he knocked down a three-pointer from the top of the arc, then scored on a fastbreak layup for a quick 5-0 run that stretched the lead to six and put the game away.
Cezar Guerrero - 12 points, 4 assists
Guerrero reached double-figures for the third straight game and is now averaging 13 points a game since his return to the lineup ... He finished 4-for-6 at the line and the makes and attempts at the free throw line are both season-highs.
