FRESNO, Calif. - Ahead of the start of the 2015 season, Fresno State lacrosse head coach Jessica Giglio has announced that seniors Marcy Levatino, Holly Cisneros, and junior Anjelica Fuccillo will serve as team captains this year.
"Throughout the fall we have implemented many changes in our program to become perennial contenders for MPSF playoffs. Adding this trio of captains and their proven leadership on the field during our preseason will no doubt take us one step closer to our ultimate goal of winning an MPSF championship," Giglio said.
Levatino, a native of Laguna Hills, Calif., finished third on the team last season with 19 goals, six assists and 25 points. The senior, who is Fresno State's current president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, has played in all but one game during her first three years as a Bulldog.
Cisneros played in every game during her first two seasons at Fresno State, and started all 12 games she played in during the 2014 season. With a team-high 22 groundballs last year, the native Oregon City, Ore., is the Bulldogs' career leader in the category with 65.
Fuccillo, a native of East Port, N.Y., led 2014 squad with eight assists and finished second with 22 goals and 30 points. In her first two seasons in red and blue, the attacker accumulated 37 goals, 14 assists and 51 points.
