A Letter from Jim Bartko to the Red Wave

A Happy New Year to you. It is my first week on the job and I have to tell you that I am excited to be here and have hit the ground running. You'll begin to see me at a lot of our events, starting with tonight's men's basketball game against Utah State. If you see me at a game or out in town, please come and say hello.
Our staff, coaches, student-athletes and myself will be out in the community, not just here in Fresno but across the entire Valley. It is important for us to be engaged with the community, as our fan base is a crucial component of our future and it is important to me that I hear the voice of the Red Wave.
We currently are in a season ticket renewal period for football, our men's and women's basketball teams are both hot as we currently speak and need your support at the Save Mart Center during the stretch run of conference play. Our swimming and diving team is in the heart of their season and host a dual meet at home on Saturday and soon we will be having a number of other sports starting competition. We have a great group of coaches and student-athletes and I encourage you to get out there and watch them compete.
I want to have open lines of communication with the community so I encourage you to email me at athleticdirector@mail.fresnostate.edu with any questions or concerns you might have, any recommendations of spots in town I need to visit or eat at, or simply to just say hello.
I am very excited about the future of Bulldog Athletics and I thank you for being a part of that.
Best,
Jim Bartko
