Jones Named Sysco Student-Athlete of the Week

Fresno State junior forward Torren Jones, who is majoring in political science, helped lead Fresno State to a season-opening 69-66 victory over Pepperdine with his first career double-double. His 13 points and 14 rebounds were both career bests for him, topping his single-game highs as a freshman at Missouri. Jones is the first Bulldog to post a double-double in his debut since Greg Smith had one in his debut in 2009. Jones scored the final three points of the Bulldogs' late 12-0 run in a 2 minute and 41 second stretch that helped Fresno State erase an 8-point deficit with 4:26 remaining.
