What changed to allow the Bulldog run…
"I think our guys did it with defense. That's something we knew coming we needed to really defend the 3-point line. We knew they were going to be a team that really executed their half-court offense. They challenged us defensively to not be forced to spread out. They were a team that was going to come in and run a five man motion. In the midst of some of their sets guys could just raise up and make shots. They did that for a good part of the first half."
On Cezar's shooting…
"He's put the time in. I've said that to our team, he's worked really hard on his shooting. He's been in the gym and put time in. I said to the guys, "you're going to get what you invest in this game. If you invest in the game and you work then you'll see positive results." Cezar has seen that the last couple of games, the ball going through the net because he's put the time in."
On getting every player on the bench in the game…
"The starters are always excited about those guys, those guys bring so much energy and give us a good look every day in practice. They make our starters better and they make our second team better because they come in with unbelievable energy. We asked them to be the Delaware State scout team and they go full throttle. So anytime those guys get a chance to be rewarded with some playing time for the effort and time they put in. I'm sure the starters appreciate what these guys do for them."
On Sam Bittner scoring his first 3-pointer as a Bulldog…
"Sam's another one of those guys that's one of the first guys out on the floor everyday working on his shots. We expect him to be a guy that can come in and make shots, and be comfortable doing it. He puts the time in so we're not really surprised that he rose up and made one."
On Oregon…
"This time of year everybody is going to play everybody extremely hard. If you look around the country right now there is a lot of parity in college basketball. You have to be ready to play on any given night. It doesn't matter if you're home or on the road, you've got to come play."
"Obviously we've got a lot of respect for their program and what they've been able to do there. We're excited about the opportunity. I think our guys will come ready to play."
"Like I tell these guys right now, we have faceless opponents. So much about this time of the year is us getting better, on both ends of the floor. It's not so much who we're playing as it is about the things we're trying to improve on and get better."
"Oregon's a good team. Early in the season we try not get too ahead of ourselves, but I saw those guys play earlier in the year against Baylor. They're a team that's going to do a great job on the offensive glass, when a shot goes up we're going to have to be physical. They shoot the ball really well at home. They're obviously a high level opponent for us and we know we have our work cut out for us but we're excited we have the opportunity."
Cezar Guerrero, Senior Guard
On the game being close during the first half…
"We had a really small lead, we just needed to turn it up on defense. Lionel Ellison III and the rest of the team did a great job doing that. We just turned up our defense and we hang our hat on that."
On passing the ball tonight…
"I was trying to get my teammates involved and get them going as well. I'm just trying to win. That's all we're trying to do, just win."
On Oregon…
"It's Pac 12 country. It's going to be a big test for us. Coach Terry and all of our coaching staff is going to a great job getting us prepared for this game. We're going to go up there and try to get a win."
On getting kick out passes from the forwards…
"It feels good. It always feels good when you get a basket. Torren is putting in the work with his post moves. We're trying to be an unselfish team. We're trying to win every game and get to the NCAA tournament and win a Mountain West ring."
Torren Jones, Junior Forward
On the game being close in the first half…
"That's how the game goes sometimes. There are highs and lows. I feel like we came out kind of sluggish but once we got our pace right and got back to what we want to do it was an easier game."
On Oregon…
"I'm ready. I think we have one of the best teams in the Mountain West. We've put the time and preparation in to go face a team like Oregon, at Oregon. We know that's going to be a hostile environment but we're close enough to be ready for that."
On his hustle…
"It feels good. That's something coach recruited me for. I feel like if I can bring that to every game then I did my job. When I'm getting on the ground, running hard, and rebounding strong, it's something that has faded throughout the years but it's what I like to do and what I pride myself on. I have fun doing it."
