I am grateful to Jim Bartko and Steve Robertello for this opportunity and can't wait to do great things with the student-athletes, coaches, campus and community at Fresno State."
Coll will also have department oversight of sports medicine, be involved in student-athlete initiatives as well as serving as a sport administrator for multiple sport programs providing leadership with goal setting, performance management and budget planning and monitoring.
At the Mountain West, Coll led the governance process and league policy creation and implementation with the Senior Woman Administrators, Joint Council and Conference office staff. She also supervised 16 regular-season MW sponsored sports with a focus on short and long-range planning for competitive improvement, forecasted and managed departmental budgets and ensured gender equity in decision-making processes concerning championship sites and operations.
"Carrie combines a wealth of national contacts with a tremendous knowledge of intercollegiate athletics and vast experiences to deliver a very valuable administrator," Mountain West Commissioner Craig Thompson said. "We are pleased that she will transfer those skills in support of Fresno State athletics, while simultaneously continuing to advance the Mountain West."
Prior to her 14-year run at the Mountain West from 2002-15, Coll was the Senior Director of Events and Elite Athlete Relations for the United States Figure Skating Association from 1998-2002.
Coll got her start in collegiate athletics as an undergrad at Colorado where she served as a student athletic trainer for the Buffaloes.
