Rodney Terry, Fresno State Head Coach
On tonight's game…
"Nothing surprised me about tonight's game. Anytime you're facing Coach Rod his team is going to embody who he is. They're going to compete from start to finish. We've said for the last couple of days that this was going to be a 40 minute game. You can throw the records out when Fresno plays Bakersfield, it's going to be a battle. Out of the four years I've been here maybe one of the four games hasn't come down to the wire. We knew it was going to be hard. I give our guys a lot of credit for digging down deep and competing for 40 minutes."
On defense in the last five minutes…
"We never panicked. We came over to the time out and told our guys this game was a long way from being over. Bakersfield was excited they had a good run. You have to keep playing, there's a lot of time left in this game. We had timeouts with seven minutes left to go we had to get some stops together. We can find a way to score we just need to put some stops together. We're going to be playing games like that all season long. We converted a couple of those stops into points."
On Terrell Carter II…
"Terrell has been working hard over the last three weeks. You've seen improvement in practice and games. In the game against Arizona he played significant minutes in a high level game and played really well. He's done it in practice every day. He's engaged with his teammates. Every one of those guys over there are pulling for him. I'm glad that he's having some results show for all of his hard work. His whole attitude and approach this Fall has been different. He's doing extra work in the weight room. He's doing a good job. I like what he's doing and I like his development right now. He did it against an older player tonight."
On what turned the game around…
"In our huddle when we were down six we said it's only a two possession game and we've got a lot of time. We've got to put together a stop, score, stop. We ended up getting consecutive stops, which was even better. We settles back in and continued to play. I thought our defense down the stretch was good."
On Evansville…
"I think it's going to be a big game for both of us. You're talking about Evansville who was a post season champion a year ago. They're a team that is returning their starting line-up. They're a team that I think has a chance to finish in the top three of a really good Missouri Valley league. It's a great game for both of us. It was a one possession game a year ago on a neutral quote. We'll have some time to prepare for them. It's going to be a great game on both ends.
Marvelle Harris, Senior Guard
On playing the point down the stretch, and how big of an impact it had on Bulldog offense being able to attack the zone from a point guard position and if it made it easier to score from his perspective…
"It opened a lot of things up, they were trying to deny me. But it did open a lot of things up and it gave me a lot of opportunities on the ball screen to find an open guy and target the open guy."
Terrell Carter II, Sophomore Center
On how satisfying it was to up his game against a Bakersfield older player…
"I was starting last game against him and I was trying to remember what he was doing with his movements, but it was a great win so I feel great about it."
