Jaime White, Fresno State Head Coach
Opening statement…
"The fourth quarter was really good. I think we made a couple of runs there. We had a 12-point lead in the second quarter. We played a lot of people today. We felt like we could get some people some playing time. You're going to have a few bumps with that. We turned the ball over ten times in the first half and that was not a high point. We were 10-for-10 at the free throw line in the first half. We had 50 rebounds. Like I said, a lot of people got some touches. We really feel like we need to have some of our younger players playing and getting some minutes as we go into conference. I'm pleased with that."
"Obviously Moriah [Faulk] and Bego [Faz Davalos] did a good job. Moriah almost had a double-double and Bego had another double-double that was almost a triple-double."
"We turned it around and had a strong fourth quarter. That's when you absolutely need it. I thought we did a good job going in when we needed to. Zone hurt us a little bit until we started going in."
On Bego Faz Davalos…
"We hadn't hit a three, we were taking them and they were good shots, but we weren't hitting them. They were turning into transitions for the other team. I felt like other than one player they were all guards, so we saw some mismatches with Bego and Toni. We went to seal and I felt like Stanislaus was sometimes confused about who they were guarding and we were able to throw over the top of them."
On Moriah Faulk…
"I feel like when Moriah rebounds she really has the intention to put it back. She has the urgency to rebound the ball and give us another opportunity which helps build everyone's confidence."
On ending the semester with a win…
"I'm ready for finals to be over and I'm not even taking them. I think we're a little tired. I said on radio that it feels like we've had a game every two days, that's hard. We haven't had a day off for about a week and a half. It'll be nice to have tomorrow off. They can focus on their studies. You don't realize what a stress that is on a young adult when we're also asking them to be in the gym and to push through some things on their own. I'll be glad when that's over. I'm looking forward to our San Diego game. We had a great game down in San Diego and we will welcome them up to the Save Mart Center. It's a red out and we're wearing our red uniforms. We're excited to have the doubleheader with the men. We hope all of our fans come out and cheer us on."
Moriah Faulk, Senior Guard/Forward
On her play tonight…
"We talked a lot about leadership this week. I tried to come off the bench and set the tone for the team and get everyone fired up to play hard so that we could get a convincing win tonight."
"I just do what I have to do to help our team win, whatever that takes. Whether it's passing the ball or trying to score."
On coming back to the Save Mart Center…
"The beginning of the game was a little rough. The fourth quarter gave us some confidence to feel good going into the next couple of practices and getting ready for San Diego."
Bego Faz Davalos, Redshirt Sophomore Center
On tonight's game compared to the last game…
"The last game hurt but I think we know what we need to work on."
On her success tonight…
"It wasn't just me, it was my team. My team gave me great passes. Tonight was a wake up call. Coach White told us that we need to finish."
