Russell Named Sysco Student-Athlete of the Week

Junior Brody Russell led the Bulldog baseball team to a 3-0 start on opening weekend with a .583 batting average (7-for-12), five RBI and three runs scored. Russell was 3-for-3 with one run scored, one RBI, one walk and one sacrifice in the Friday opener. He drove home the game-tying run with an RBI single in the seventh inning and later scored the go-ahead run. In the finale, went 3-for-5 - including three RBI and a home run. Russell's home run gave Fresno State its first lead of the game in the eighth inning. Russell is a kinesiology-personal fitness training major at Fresno State.
