FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State men's golf team will be back in action Monday and Tuesday for the 26th annual Duck Invitational in Eugene, Ore. The University of Oregon will host the two day event at Eugene Country Club, a par 72, 7,020-yard course.
"The Duck Invite has been circled on our calendar for some time," said head coach Chad Spencer. "It's a great event on a fantastic golf course. Our lineup is ready to go and looking to play well."
Competing for Fresno State will be the same contingent that coach Spencer chose to represent the 'Dogs last time out on March 2-3 at the Long Beach State Del Walker Invitational:
1. Michael Pugh
2. Keenan Nelson
3. Neil Bautista
4. Justin Avery
5. Cody Riecks
The field will feature 15 schools and 80 players, including three Mountain West opponents - Nevada, San Diego State and San Jose State. The remainder of the field includes Arizona State, Gonzaga, Kansas State, Loyola Marymount, Oregon, Oregon State, Pacific, UC Riverside, Utah and Washington.
Oregon State returns as the defending champion. The Beavers completed last year's edition with a 9-over 292-290-291--873 at the par-72, 7,165-yard Emerald Valley Golf Course.
Eugene Country Club will also serve as the future site of the 2015 NCAA Men's and Women's Championships, May 20-June 1.
