FRESNO, Calif. -- Fresno State student-athlete alumni will be hosting its inaugural Club Red Mixer and Fundraiser on Saturday, April 25 from 3:30-6 p.m. at the Thiesen-Dueker Suite Deck in Bulldog Stadium.
"Bulldogs find a way to make things happen, there is no quit in us, that's why Club Red is finally a reality," Club Red Vice President and former Fresno State football player Kevin Jordan said with excitement regarding the inaugural event. "This is something for us to all be proud of, we are history in the making."
This event will welcome back alumni from all Bulldog sports and eras, prominent donors and community leaders, members of our current coaching staff and administration, including President Joseph Castro and his wife Mary and Director of Athletics Jim Bartko.
Stephone Paige will be the keynote alumni speaker. Paige played wide receiver at Fresno State in 1981 and 1982. After his Bulldog career concluded in 1982, a season in which Paige helped lead the Bulldogs to an 11-1 record, he went on to play 11 seasons in the NFL, 10 of which were spent with the Kansas City Chiefs.
"Club Red is the embodiment of teamwork, passion, tradition and brotherhood," added Jordan. "We are all Bulldog Born, Bulldog Bred, it's in our blood and nothing can ever change that. Our Bulldog Spirit makes us unique and it's time we show the world what that "spirit" can do. Time to be Bold 'Dogs. Don't miss out on this opportunity to be part of history."
This new event will also be open to the general public on a limited basis. Tickets are $30 each. There will be heavy appetizers, desert and complimentary beer, wine and soft drinks served.
There will also be silent auction items and very unique Bulldog experiences up for grabs.
All proceeds from this event will go towards supporting current Bulldog student-athletes through a donation to the Bulldog Foundation annual scholarship fund, as well as a separate gift to Valley Children's Hospital.
Free tickets for both that evening's home softball (6p.m., Nevada) and baseball (6:35p.m., San Diego State) games will be available.
