Clayton, Takeuchi Card Pair of 72's Tuesday

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. - The Fresno State men's golf team wrapped up the second round of the Saint Mary's Invitational in Pebble Beach, Calif., at Poppy Hills Golf Club on Tuesday. The 'Dogs are in seventh place out of the 15-team field with a 36-hole 591 (+23) after Tuesday's 14-over 298 second round.
Two Bulldogs posted even-par scores (72), Trevor Clayton and Russell Takeuchi, but Takeuchi's cannot apply to the team score as he entered the Invitational as an individual.
Clayton's 72 places him in a tie at 22nd on the individual leaderboard alongside teammate Justin Avery, who shot a 2-over 74 on Tuesday. Both sit at 4-over 146 after 36 holes.
As a team, Fresno State dropped two spots from Monday. The 'Dogs opened with a 293 that was followed with their second round 298. The men's team will look to gain position in the final round, which begins Wednesday morning at 7:30 a.m.
