Leah Hatayama Named Sysco Student-Athlete of the Week

Leah Hatayama, a senior in the Food Science and Nutrition department with an emphasis in Culinology, paced the women's swimming and diving team to its third straight Beach Cup title in San Diego over the weekend. The Fresno native finished first in the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle events, the second time this season that she has swept all three in one meet. She was also a member of the first-place relay teams in the 200 freestyle and 400 medley and the second-place relay teams in the 200 medley and 800 freestyle. The Bulldogs defeated San Diego, Loyola Marymount and Pepperdine with a final score of 817.5 points, over 200 points higher than second-place San Diego.
