DAVIS, Calif. -- Fresno State senior Leah Hatayama won two events -- the 50-yard freestyle (23.53) and 100-yard freestyle (51.87) -- in the Bulldogs' swimming and diving team's 160-132 loss to the UC Davis Aggies on Friday afternoon at the Schaal Aquatics Center in Davis, Calif.
Fresno State (5-2) saw its five-meet winning streak snapped as the Bulldogs dropped their seventh-straight match against UC Davis.
"UC Davis swam really well today and we just didn't keep up," Fresno State head coach Jeanne Fleck said. "Hopefully we learn from this experience and get some quality training in this week."
Senior diver Lacie Ruth also earned an event victory for Fresno State with a win in the 3-meter diving competition (249.15) while Hailee Baldwin won the 200-yard breaststroke (2:22.75) and Casey Kennemann got a win in the 500-meter freestyle (5:07.40).
The Bulldogs will head to San Diego next week to participate in the annual Beach Cup next Friday and Saturday against San Diego, Pepperdine and Loyola Marymount.
The diving team will also compete at the UCLA Diving Invitational next Friday through Sunday.
