Mazutaityte earns CollegeSwimming.com honors

SOMERS, WI. – After winning all three of her individual events in a quad-meet against UOP, Fresno Pacific and UC Santa Cruz, Fresno State sophomore Ugne Mazutaityte was named Mountain West Swimmer of the Week by CollegeSwimming.com on Tuesday morning.
"We are very excited that Ugne was recognized as the CollegeSwimming.com Swimmer of the Week for the Mountain West," said head coach Jeanne Fleck. "She had a great meet winning all of her individual events and marking season-best times."
Mazutaityte continued her undefeated reign in the 200 Backstroke this season with a season-best time of 1:59.06. She finished first in the 100 Backstroke with a season-best time of 56.83. The sophomore led the Bulldogs in the 500 Freestyle with a first place finish (5:01.25). She was also a member of the Fresno State 200 Medley team that took third place with time of 1:46.55.
Mazutaityte currently holds the fastest time in the Mountain West for the 200 Backstroke this season.
CollegeSwimming.com selects eight National Swimmers-of-the-Week, as well as 121 swimmers as Swimmers-of-the-Week for their respective conferences. These selections are separate from selections made by each conference.
