Garza releases 2017 schedule, ’Dogs to host 25 games, two tournaments

FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno State softball head coach Linda Garza released the 2017 schedule on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will host 25 games, including two tournaments, nonconference games against CSU Bakersfield and Pacific, and four Mountain West series (Boise State, Nevada, New Mexico and San Jose State).
On the road, the 'Dogs will participate in three tournaments, nonconference games against Cal, Santa Clara and UC Santa Barbara, and four MW series (Colorado State, San Diego State, UNLV and Utah State).
Fresno State sees its first action at the Arizona State Kajikawa Classic, where the Bulldogs are set to face Indiana (Feb. 10), Oregon (Feb. 10), Purdue (Feb. 11), San Diego (Feb. 11) and Stanford (Feb. 12).
The 'Dogs then travel to the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge in Mexico to play Mississippi State (Feb. 16), Florida Gulf Coast (Feb. 16-17), Cal State Fullerton (Feb. 18) and Texas Tech (Feb. 19).
Fresno State next returns home to host the Bulldog Classic, in which it will face Cal Poly (Feb. 23, 26), Minnesota (Feb. 24), UC Davis (Feb 25-26) and Idaho State (Feb. 25).
The Bulldogs then head down south to the Cal State Fullerton Judi Garman Classic to play against Long Beach State (March 2), Iowa (March 2), Indiana (March 3), Northwestern (March 4) and Washington (March 4).
The 'Dogs come back home for their final tournament of the season, the Fresno State Invitational, and are set to face BYU (March 10-11), Oregon State (March 10-11) and Sacramento State (March 12).
Mountain West play will then begin with a road trip to San Diego State (March 17-19), followed by an eight-game homestand which includes CSU Bakersfield (March 21), Boise State (March 24-26), Pacific (March 29) and Nevada (March 31-April 2).
Fresno State then hits the road for seven games, as the Bulldogs will play against Utah State (April 7-9), Santa Clara (April 13), Cal (April 14-15) and UC Santa Barbara (April 19).
The 'Dogs will then return home to face San Jose State (April 21-23), travel to UNLV (April 28-30), finish their home schedule against New Mexico (May 5-7) and complete their regular season at Colorado State (May 11-13).
