Fresno State Head Coach, Rodney Terry
On the win tonight…
"We give Air Force a lot of credit. Dave Pilipovich is a great Coach; he's done a great job with his program. Since we've been in the Mountain West conference we've only had one game against them that hasn't been a one-possession game. The mindsets between our two programs mirror each other, in terms of how hard you have to play for forty minutes. I don't think either team gets too high or too low, they just keep playing the game. When you have two types of programs like that, that have the opportunity to play each other you're going to have games like this."
"I'm really proud of the way our guys played down the stretch tonight. They never stopped playing, and they never stopped working the game. They never stopped believing they could win the game. This was a really gutsy win for us."
On Marvelle Harris…
"Marvelle stepped up at a very high level in the second half. To me, Marvelle is the best player in this league, but I'm a little biased because I'm his coach. He's been really poised. He had two points in the first half, because he was sharing the basketball and wasn't trying to be overly aggressive. He trusts his teammates right now. This team has really bought into doing whatever it takes to win."
On Fresno State's defense tonight…
"They were shooting the ball really well at this juncture of the season. I thought we did a really good job with our shooter defense. Our focus tonight was transition defense. We didn't give Air Force any easy shots tonight. We knew this game wasn't going to be about our offense, because we'll find and way to get it done on offense. It was going to be our defense, and we had to get stops.
On the growth of this team…
"The thing that excites me about this team is that they play for each other. They are a 'team', they understand their roles and no one is fighting their roles. The guys are picking each other up and getting it done at a very high level. They're continuing to improve, and more importantly they believe in each other. I think we are just getting started right now. This time of year you want to be playing your best basketball. The wins don't have to be pretty, you just have to find a way to win. Tonight, they found a way to win."
Marvelle Harris, Senior Guard
On how he feels after the game…
"Like coach said, my teammates believed in me. After Nevada, which was a hard loss, I remember I missed 2 free throws and we talked about it in the locker room. Nobody put their head down, nobody got down on me, and they just patted me on the back and said I would do better next time. Today was the same opportunity and that support helped me a lot."
On if that was his best game finish…
"It might have been. I know last game I had a similar situation, but I would say this makes top 3."
On hitting the critical 3-point basket to close the gap…
"It was something we practiced. My team always has confidence in me, and we always support each other. So, when anybody takes a shot, you always feel confident because supporting each other always makes everything easier."
On his slip in the first half…
"It was my groin. I fell awkward, but I am going to get some treatment tonight and tomorrow. I won't sleep until I get some treatment, coach will make sure of that."
On this game's finish…
"It was a really good team win, probably one of the best since I have been here. Air Force is a tough team, and every time we play them it's a tough game. I think this is one of the top 3 performances since I have been here."
Karachi Edo, Junior Forward
On playing with his bad wrist…
"It aches me sometimes, but I am not too worried about it when I am with my team."
On Marvelle Harris having more blocks than him…
"He wowed me when he blocked the dunk, it was like Lebron."
