FRESNO, Calif. - The No. 9 Fresno State equestrian team was edged 13-5 by the fourth-ranked Baylor Bears on Friday afternoon at the Student Horse Center.
The Bulldogs now own a 3-9 overall record and are 3-2 heading into Saturday's United Equestrian Conference finale with South Dakota State.
The Bulldogs trailed 3-7 after the first two events of the day with Alexandra Dirickson earning the lone point in Equitation Over Fences, meanwhile Taylor Brown and Sydney Elliott captured the ‘Dogs pair of points in Horsemanship.
The Western team was led in the pen by Brown who additionally earned Most Outstanding Playing honors in Reining with a high score of 71 over her opponents 67.5.
In addition to Dirickson's triumph, Paige Pastorino added a point for the Hunt Seat side after winning her respective point (75-70) in Equitation on the Flat.
Prior to Saturday's meet, the Bulldog's four-person senior class will be honored during a pregame ceremony starting at approximately 10:30 a.m.
