FRESNO, Calif. – Ahead of next month’s women’s basketball Olympic Qualifying Tournament in France, Fresno State incoming freshman Katelin Noyer has been added the New Zealand national team for its tours in China and Europe, New Zealand head coach Kennedy Kereama announced this week.
Noyer, a native of Auckland, New Zealand, will compete alongside 13 other players for the Tall Ferns. The 6-foot-4 center is one of only two players under 20-years old to make the roster. The team includes four players competing in New Zealand, four who play for colleges in the United States and six players based outside of New Zealand in professional leagues.
The Tall Ferns’ schedule includes two Four Nations Tournaments in China from May 14-16 and 19-21. The team then travels to Latvia for friendlies during May 23-28. On May 29, the team will begin a Four Nations Tournament in Belarus that will run through June 4.
The last leg of the tour will feature friendlies in Spain from June 5-9. Prior to this final competition ahead of the Olympic Qualifying Tournament, Kennedy will trim his roster down to the 12. Olympic Qualifying will take place in Nantes, France from June 13-19.
