Alex Lee cards 4-under-par 68 in opening round of Pacific Invitational

STOCKTON, Calif. – Fresno State men's golf sits in 13th place among the 20-team field after 18 holes at the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational. Leading the Bulldogs is junior Alex Lee, who is tied for second on the individual leaderboard after firing a 4-under-par 68.
Lee shot a 4-under-par 32 on the back nine to begin his round thanks to four birdies and five pars. He went on to post an even-par 36 on the front nine to finish at 4-under-par for the day. It marks his lowest round of the season thus far and his first in the 60s.
Lane Pulliam is second on the Fresno State leaderboard and tied for 34th individually after round one. Pulliam was 1-under-par after six holes but double-bogeyed the 18th to finish his first nine at 1-over-par. He would bounce back on the front, compiling two birdies, six pars and a bogey en route to an even-par 72.
Michael Cliff finished the day at 1-over-par. The freshman shot 1-over-par on the front and even par on the back, and currently sits tied for 45th place.
In his first appearance in the lineup for Fresno State, freshman Kevin Huff posted a 4-over-par 76. Huff got off to a rocky start with a double bogey on his first hole, but played nearly even-par golf the rest of the way.
Justin Avery was 1-under-par through his first seven holes but played his final 12 holes at 8-over-par. Avery is tied for 102nd after a 7-over-par 79.
Individual Cameron Delaere shot a 5-over-par 41 on the back nine but recovered nicely and carded a 2-under-par 34 on the front. DeLaere finished with a 3-over-par 75.
Play at The Reserve at Spanos Park will continue tomorrow morning with round two. Fresno State players will tee off on hole No. 10 every 10 minutes starting at 8:30 a.m.
