Dirickson, Dixon and Harle earned Fresno State’s points in the competition
WACO, Texas – The seventh-seeded Fresno State equestrian team fell 12-3 to second-seeded Georgia in the quarterfinals of the NCEA Championships on Friday at the Extraco Events Center in Waco, Texas. This was the first neutral site loss for the Bulldogs this season after winning the previous five.

Fresno State was down early, as Georgia took a 3-1 lead following Equitation Over Fences, with sophomore Alexandra Dirickson (158) edging her competitor by two points to earn the point for the Bulldogs in her matchup. The Reining event extended Georgia's lead to 6-2 after junior Taylor Dixon (136.5) recorded Fresno State's lone point.

Bulldog freshman Maddy Keck kept Georgia from sweeping the Equitation on the Flat event after tying her competition with a score of 148. However, Georgia added three more points to its total. To round out the day, Georgia owned Horsemanship 3-1 as freshman Taeya Harle (139) notched the point for the Bulldogs.

Fresno State ends its 2016-17 campaign with a 9-8 overall record.
