Bulldogs open season at Cal Winter Invitational

Matches to run Friday through Sunday.
FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State women's tennis team will open its 2018 spring season this weekend at the Cal Winter Invitational in Berkeley, California. Matches will be held at the Hellman Tennis Complex and Channing Tennis Courts beginning on Friday morning and will run through Sunday afternoon.

The Bulldogs have been opening their spring season at the Cal tournament since 2010-11 season and will again see common opponents in Cal Poly, Saint Mary's and Cal, which is ranked No. 11 to open the season. Fresno State will open doubles competition against Cal Poly and singles play against Saint Mary's.

Ranked singles players in competition are No. 17 Anna Bright and No. 40 Olivia Hauger of Cal.

Three years ago, the Bulldogs left the tournament with 12 wins in three days, but the following year, teams were only able to play the first day after rain washed out day two and three. Last year saw the 'Dogs finish the three-day tournament with 20 wins.
