FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno State won 10 individual races, both diving events, and one relay to defeat both Fresno Pacific and Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday at the Fresno State Aquatics Center. The 'Dogs beat Pomona-Pitzer 207-87 and defeated Fresno Pacific 193-95.

Ugne Mazutaityte (500 Free, 1000 Free) and Gabbie Libang (100 Fly, 200 Fly) each won two swimming events and Kelli Funk claimed both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events to lead the Bulldogs. Lucy Davies (200 Free), Stephanie Bartel (100 Back), Osianna McReed (50 Free), Kimberly Harbert (100 Free), Emma Monnich (200 Back), and Manuela Mendolicchio (200 IM) also posted race wins for Fresno State.

In addition to the 13 wins, the Bulldogs had 15 second and third-place finishes and had the top three finishers in the 100 Fly, 200 Fly, 200 Free, and 200 IM. The Fresno Pacific and Pomona-Pitzer men's swimming and diving teams also competed during Saturday's meet.

Swimming Highlights

The 'Dogs opened the meet taking the top two spots in the 200 Medley Relay with the 'A' team of Mazutaityte, Mendolicchio, Harbert, and McReed placing first in 1:45.77.
Mazutaityte picked up her first individual win in the first individual event as she touched first in the 1000 Free in 10:36.55. She claimed first in the 500 Free as well with a time of 5:08.02 while Zofia Niemczak was just behind in second place.
Libang led the Bulldogs to the top three finishes in both the 100 and 200 Fly. She won in 56.65 in the 100 Fly with Patricia Lucas and Brenda Diaz Martinez in second and third, and in the 200 Fly is was Libang in 2:03.72 followed by Diaz Martinez and Lucas in the top three spots.
Bartel and Monnich were the top two finishers in both backstroke events as Bartel won the 100 Back with Monnich in second and Monnich won the 200 Back with Bartel just behind.
Mendolicchio led a Bulldog sweep in the 200 IM as she finished first in 2:06.37 with Davies second and Libang in third. Mendolicchio was also the top Bulldog finisher in the 100 Breast placing second.
Davies won the 200 Free in 1:55.82 with Niemczak and Mackenzie Ayala in second and third and she was the top Bulldog finisher in the 200 Breast in second place.
Harbert won the 100 Free in 53.21 with McReed placing third after McReed won the 50 Free in 24.10.

Diving Highlights

Funk, who was the lone Bulldog diver in action on Saturday, dominated on both boards.
On 1-Meter, the senior posted a career-best score of 277.10 while no other diver scored better than 191.35. Her score met the NCAA Zone Meet qualifying mark on 1-meter.
Funk scored a 278.65 to win on 3-meter as, again, she was the only diver to post a score above 200 in a field of five.

"I'm really happy. We had some people that we got to move around and really had some great swims. Gabbie Libang had lifetime-best times in the 100 Fly and 200 Fly and just swam unbelievable. For how hard we're training her to go those times in a regular dual meet suit was amazing and really exciting for a senior. Steph and Emma had good wins and as a team we showed some sharpness so it was just really fun to see."

What's Next

Funk will represent the Bulldogs at the Trojan Diving Invitational next weekend at USC. The swimmers will be back in action in a dual at Pacific on Nov. 17.
