Funk earns MW Diver of the Week honors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – After dominant wins on both 1-meter and 3-meter in Fresno State's double dual on Saturday, senior diver Kelli Funk has been selected as MW Diver of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.

Funk, a Fresno native who graduated from Clovis West HS, earned her first MW weekly honor. She is in her third season as a Bulldog after competing at TCU as a freshman.

Funk easily won both springboard competitions as Fresno State earned home wins over Fresno Pacific and Pomona-Pitzer. She had a career-best score of 277.10 on 1-meter, topping the NCAA Zone qualifying standard of 265. The second-place finisher in the field of six scored just 191.35 as Funk easily took first place.

She had a strong victory on 3-meter as well, scoring 278.65 to earn the win while narrowly missing the 3-meter NCAA Zone standard of 280. As was the case on 1-meter, Funk was the only diver to top a score of 200 as she won comfortably.
