Fresno State drops 4-2 match at No. 48 USC

Lawson, Wilson upset No. 39 duo of Valdes and Kulikov.
LOS ANGELES – Facing its second ranked opponent in as many days, the Fresno State women's tennis team fell 4-2 at No. 48 USC on Saturday.

The Bulldogs took the early advantage by claiming the doubles point. Olivia Noble and Juliane Triebe opened the day up with a 6-1 win on Court 3 before Georgia Lawson and Emma pulled off an upset over USC's No. 39-ranked duo, 6-3.

Trailing 2-1, Ndindi Ndunda earned the Bulldogs' only singles win of day at the No. 5 spot, 6-0, 6-3, over Constance Branstine. The 'Dogs then dropped straight-set matches on Court 1 and 2 to close out the dual match.

Fresno State will remain on the road next weekend as the team travels to Oregon on March 3.
