Bulldogs finish season in NCEA National Championship Quarterfinals
WACO, Texas - The Fresno State equestrian team dropped its quarterfinal contests of the NCEA National Championship to No.1 seed Georgia in the Equitation on the Flat and the Horsemanship events on Friday afternoon at the Extraco Events Center.
The Bulldogs finish their season with a 6-14 overall record.
"I am very proud of our team this year. It has been a year full of ups and downs, but they pulled through and finished strong," said head coach Eric Hubbard. "We will greatly miss our seniors and all that they have been for our program."
Fresno State surrendered the flat event, 4-0. Junior Alexandra Dirickson scored the highest ride for Fresno State with a score of 164, but Georgia's Maddy Darst edged Dirickson with a score of 170.
The 'Dogs fell in the horsemanship, 3-1. Senior Taylor Dixon picked up the point for Fresno State with a tight 147-146 winning ride over Georgia's Maddie Anger.
