A free three-plus hour event hosted by the Fresno State Strength and Conditioning staff on May 21 featured scientific and practical information for sport performance.
FRESNO, Calif. --- The Fresno State Strength and Conditioning staff hosted a Performance Over Pandemic event, which was a free live virtual clinic streamed through its new Fresno Built account on YouTube, on Thursday, May 21.
"Opportunities are often disguised as challenges, I am proud of our Strength and Conditioning staff here at Fresno State for finding an opportunity to give back to California Coaches during this pandemic," In response to the success of the event, Fresno State Assistant Athletic Director of Sport Performance Ron McKeefery said. "We have been maximizing what we can do with our athletes during this time, additionally our staff wanted to find a way to be a resource for those in the Valley and beyond. It's a testament to the character of the 500 coaches who attended that a pandemic isn't going to keep them from finding a way to be there for their athletes as well."
The event featured presentations from the Fresno State Strength and Conditioning staff where all attendees had the ability to send in questions for our staff to answer in question-and-answer session immediately following the presentations.
Topics included warm-up strategies, nontraditional training methods, common biomechanical weak areas, and developing team culture for success. The mission was to share scientific and practical information from our staff to help coaches be prepared to do what they love - coach and lead their athletes - during and after this unprecedented time.
