Tumey announces staff promotions

Three athletic administrators – Jason Cappadoro, Kelli Eberlein and Matt Studwell – have been elevated to serve as Fresno State associate athletic directors.
FRESNO, Calif. – Jason Cappadoro, Kelli Eberlein and Matt Studwell have been promoted to associate athletic directors, Fresno State Director of Athletics Terry Tumey announced on Friday.
Cappadoro (business operations), Eberlein (sports medicine) and Studwell (facilities and operations) were each previously serving as assistant athletic directors for their respective areas.
Cappadoro is in his third year at Fresno State having joined the Bulldogs' athletics administrative team in Jan. 2019 as the assistant athletic director of business operations. Cappadoro oversees the development and administration of the department's annual operating budget, and has been a sport supervisor for multiple sports including equestrian and lacrosse.
Prior to his time in the San Joaquin Valley, Cappadoro was the Director of Finance for Athletics at the University of Denver.
Eberlein, who earned her bachelors' degree from Fresno State in physical education/athletic training in 1993, is now in her 18th season working for Fresno State Athletics. Eberlein is responsible for overseeing the administration of treatment, rehabilitation and evaluation of student-athletes for Fresno State's varsity intercollegiate programs, and has been instrumental in developing and overseeing COVID health and safety protocols for student-athletes and staff.
Before returning to work at her alma mater in Oct. 2003, Eberlein was an assistant athletic trainer at Oregon State responsible for the care and prevention of injuries for the Beavers' women's basketball, softball and women's soccer programs.
Studwell, a former Fresno State track and field student-athlete, is in his eighth year working for Fresno State Athletics. Studwell oversees all facility operations and events, working closely with campus and community partners on all aspects of gameday operations for teams, officials, personnel and fans. Studwell is also a sport supervisor for multiple sports, including the baseball, cross country and track and field programs.
Prior to his time working for his alma mater, Studwell was the Director of Event Operations for the Fresno Grizzlies (AAA) with player operations and travel coordinator responsibilities.
