Rud named MW Freshman of the Week

This is the first career weekly honor from the conference for Rud and first for the Bulldogs this season.
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Freshman outside hitter Ella Rud earned Mountain West Freshman of the Week honors, as announced by the conference on Monday.
The week got started for the Gilbert, Ariz. native with nine kills and five digs in a four-set win over Colorado State and she closed out the weekend notching her second double-double of the season in a sweep over Wyoming on Saturday.
Rud tallied 10 kills and a team-high 10 digs in the 'Dogs first sweep over the Cowgirls since 2013 adding three assists and two service aces.
On the season, Rud ranks second on the team with 17 service aces, third with 81 digs and fifth with 51 kills.
