Strong fall opener for the ’Dogs

The Fresno State women’s tennis team combined to collect 26 wins, including a pair of runner-up finishes, in the 2021 Saint Mary’s Fall Invitational.
The Breakdown
MORAGA, Calif. – The Fresno State women's tennis team opened its 2021 fall slate of tournaments with a strong showing in the 2021 Saint Mary's Invitational at Tim Korth Complex.
The Bulldogs combined to secure 26 victories in the three-day competition, which featured multiple flights in singles and doubles.
Fresno State will next compete from Oct. 22-26 in the ITA Regionals at Stanford.

"We are glad to have gotten through our first tournament as a team and see where everyone is at after a month of training. Dalia (Ahmed) and Yinglak (Pang Jittakoat) had a great doubles tournament – beating a Cal team in the process and fell just short in winning their flight. Carolina (Piferi) and Janie (Ellis) had great singles runs and they worked really hard in their matches until the end. Matilde (Magrini) had a big win in singles, and everyone else competed well. We learned a lot of things and are ready to get back to work for the big ITA Regional event at Stanford."
