'Dogs sweep Falcons

The 'Dogs wrap up the season on Saturday with Senior Day against New Mexico at 1 p.m. at the Save Mart Center.
The Breakdown
FRESNO, Calif. -Â The Fresno State volleyball team swept Air Force on Thursday evening at the Save Mart Center.
Fresno State (12-13, 8-9 MW) took sets, 25-23, 25-19, 25-21 over Air Force (7-21, 4-14 MW).
How It Happened
A back-and-forth opening set that saw 15 ties and six lead changes saw its last tie at 23 before the 'Dogs came out of a timeout getting a service error by the Falcons and finished it out with a service ace by Mikayla Weiss.
The second set again was very tight through the early going as the 'Dogs used a 4-0 run to extend a one-point lead to 19-14 getting a pair of kills from Sukhov and a kill by Preslee Lillard. Back-to-back kills by Ella Rud put the Bulldogs up 23-17 and a service error and a service ace by Lauren Sabbatini gave the 'Dogs the set win.
Another back-and-forth set in the third saw a 18-18 tie before the 'Dogs ripped off five straight points getting a pair of kills and a pair of blocks and a service ace by Grace Doyle to go up 23-18. After a kill by the Falcons' Bailey Keith got Air Force back within three, a kill by Weiss sealed the sweep for the Bulldogs.

- The 'Dogs improve to 6-2 at home, including their fourth sweep, against Air Force since moving into the Mountain West in 2012Â
- The Bulldogs move to 8-3 at the Save Mart Center this season.
- Fresno State held an advantage in kills (44-37), service aces (9-3), blocks (5.0-3.0) and digs (34-29).
- Despite the win, the 'Dogs were knocked out of contention for a spot in the Mountain West Tournament next week as Boise State defeated Wyoming in straight sets.
- It was the 13th time Sukhov has led the team in kills and her 14th match finishing with double figure kills.
