How It Happened
Haley Cavinder picked up where she finished Saturday's game, scoring 11 of the Bulldogs' first 14 points. San Diego State answered with three triples in the final two-and-a-half minutes to cut the Bulldogs' lead after one to 23-19. Back-to-back 3's from Mallory Adams to end the first started SDSU on an 11-0 run as the Aztecs gabbed a one-point lead early in the second.

With 2:30 remaining until halftime, Fresno State held its largest lead of the opening 20 minutes at 40-29. On the response from Game 1 to Game 2…
"Much better game tonight. It's hard when we play like we did tonight to think that we played like we did last night. Kind of a bummer but it was a good response."
On what the difference was…
"I think our players recognized maybe they didn't have the best start last night and obviously didn't finish they way we wanted to. Coming in tonight I think we did a better job. We had 46 points in paint, our transition was better. To have three of our kids score in double digits, Maddi really helped out tonight. I thought she was very aggressive offensively. I thought our press was better. We forced them into 15 turnovers. That was one thing we thought last night if we would have forced them into 15 turnovers, we would have had a chance to win there. Good team win and good second night."
