Beginning April 1, 2021, Fresno State Athletics will allow limited attendance at outdoor home sporting events, restricted to families and guests of student-athletes and coaches.
FRESNO, Calif. – A limited number of family members and guests of Fresno State student-athletes and coaches will be allowed to attend outdoor home sporting events beginning on April 1, 2021.
This exciting update to spectator attendance is based on California Governor Gavin Newsom's updated COVID-19 policies and with guidance from the Fresno County Department of Public Health. For the remainder of this academic year, attendance will be strictly limited to families and guests of Fresno State student-athletes and coaches in order to comply with the facility capacity restrictions required by public health officials.
All ticketed guests must be pre-approved by the Fresno State Athletics compliance office and will be required to show a photo ID at entrance gates upon arrival. Additionally, all spectators will be expected to comply with mandated health and safety protocols, including: symptom screenings prior to entrance, wearing a mask at all times, and keeping the required social distance between pods of patrons. No concession offerings will be available during the spring seasons.
"While we are disappointed that the entirety of the Red Wave cannot join us this spring, we are excited to open our gates once again and provide our dedicated student-athletes the opportunity to compete with their loved ones in attendance," Fresno State Director of Athletics Terry Tumey said. "As always, the health and safety of our student-athletes, staff, and community is our top priority and as such we continue to work in unison with Fresno County public health officials to ensure compliance with all recommended protocols and procedures. Please know that we currently anticipate having public spectators at our fall sporting events on a large scale basis and more information will be released in the near future regarding fall sports, including Bulldog Football. We greatly appreciate your continued support and look forward to having the full Red Wave back in our venues this fall."
