FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno State head women's basketball coach Jaime White announced the addition of Amiee Book, a transfer from Cal State Fullerton, on Wednesday afternoon. The 6-foot forward will have two years of eligibility with the Bulldogs.
"We're very excited to be signing Amiee as she will add to our 3-point shooting immediately," White said. "Amiee has great speed, length and agility that will pay off on both ends of the court for us. Her efficiency on the court is what impressed me initially but as we got to know her, and her basketball family, I think she will be a perfect fit for Fresno State's winning culture."
Book started 43 games in 66 appearances for the Titans in her three seasons. Averaging 31.7 minutes per outing during her career, the New Zealand native averaged 11.5 points on 46.7 percent shooting from the field (287-of-615) and 39.1 percent from 3 (113-of-289). She also averaged 5.0 rebounds per outing.
Book racked up 43 double figure scoring games during her three years with seven 20-point performances coming during the last two seasons. That includes twice scoring a career-best 27 points which saw her knock down six 3-pointers during both games. In two of her three collegiate seasons she shot better than 43 percent from beyond the arc.
In nine games during 2020-21, Book averaged career highs of 14.9 points while shooting 43.2 percent from three while taking 4.9 attempts per contest.
During her first season in Fullerton, she was named Big West Sixth Player of the Year and was selected to the All-Freshman Team. That year, Book ranked second in the league in 3-point shooting at 43.2 percent which was third best in program history.
Book will be the program's second player to hail from New Zealand with both joining the program under White.
Due to the NCAA rule that allowed all fall and winter 2020-21 student-athletes to get this season back, Book will have two years of eligibility remaining.
