Hailey Dolcini named 2021 CoSIDA Academic All-America selection

FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno State senior Hailey Dolcini was named a 2021 Academic All-America Second Team selection selected by CoSIDA. Dolcini is the first Bulldog to earn this prestigious accolade since Robin Mackin in 2007.
The 2021 CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division I Softball Teams feature 18 members with a 4.0 GPA and 22 members with at least a 3.90 GPA as either undergraduate or graduate student-athletes. The 11 members on the first team have an average GPA of 3.94.
The senior owns an impressive 3.93 GPA in health and human services. Dolcini is a two-time Academic All-Mountain West selection and a Mountain West Scholar-Athlete.
Dolcini led the Bulldogs in the circle this season appearing in 31 games including 29 starts. She finished the season with a 22-5 record (No. 14 NCAA). The senior pitched 23 complete game, and owned a 1.12 ERA (No. 11 NCAA) through 180.2 innings of work with two saves. She ranked No. 1 in the NCAA with 14 shutouts including two perfect games to record the 16th and 17th perfect games in program history. She dished 259 strikeouts (No. 13 NCAA) while limited opposing batters to a .175 batting average. Dolcini recorded 13 games with 10 or more strikeouts.
The Bulldogs ace was named the MW Pitcher of the Year after leading the conference in ERA, opposing batting average, batters struck out, batters struck out looking and wins. Dolcini owned a 13-1 record and a 0.89 ERA in MW play. She tied the program record for most strikeouts in a 7 Inning game with 18 in Fresno State's 6-0 victory over New Mexico on April 2. She was in a league of her own, earning seven MW Pitcher of the Week awards which tied the MW record.
She was named to the USA Softball Collegiate Player Top 25 Finalist List, selected as an All-MW First Team, NFCA All-Region Second Team Selection and named a Softball America All-American Third Team.
