Bulldogs top Bobcats in four sets

SEATTLE -Â The Fresno State volleyball team defeated Montana State in four sets on Friday afternoon at Alaska Airlines Arena.
Behind a triple-double from Desiree Sukhov, Fresno State (4-4) claimed sets 25-18, 25-19, 23-25, 25-13 against Montana State (4-7).
How It Happened
The Bulldogs got off to a blazing start in the opening set going on a 9-0 run in the early going to take a 10-2 lead. The Bobcats would not be deterred fighting back to get within three at 17-14, but the 'Dogs answered with a 3-0 run getting kills from Sukhov and Amaria Kelley and an ace from Sukhov to go up six and stayed ahead for the seven-point win.
Another strong start in the second set saw the Bulldogs go on a 6-0 run to take a 9-3 lead. A 7-0 run pushed the 'Dogs in front 20-8 after a kill by Sukhov and after MSU cut the Bulldogs' lead to five at 24-19, an attack error by Montana State put the 'Dogs up two sets.
A tough third set saw the Bobcats narrowly win 25-23, but the Bulldogs responded in the fourth set using a 12-1 run to take a 15-6 lead and MSU was unable to get any closer than seven the remainder of the set.Â

The Bulldogs open up Mountain West play on the road next week at New Mexico (8-2) on Thursday and Air Force (1-7) on Saturday.
