Fresno State played another Quad 1 game on the road and battled close for a half before struggling down the stretch.
Â
Fresno State (16-8, 6-5 Mountain West) attacked the paint early and often en route to a 28-25 halftime lead before struggling to match Colorado State (19-3, 9-3 MW) – especially from the perimeter – in the second half.
Â
Orlando Robinson scored a game-high 24 points with eight rebounds in the loss to CSU, who was led by David Roddy's 21 points.
How it happened: With Fresno State trailing 15-8, the Bulldogs used a 9-0 run to take its first lead at 17-15 with 7:53 to play in the first half.
Â
Fresno State extended its led by as many as six in the final minute before halftime.
Â
In the second half, the Bulldogs didn't make enough shots to counter CSU's zone – converting just 2-for-19 on 3-point field goal attempts after the break.
Â
Meanwhile, the Rams shot 51.9 percent from the field for the game and outscored the 'Dogs 40-26 in the paint, including a 24-12 advantage in the second 20 minutes.

Quotes:
Justin Hutson, Fresno State head coach
"We do have some guys who can shoot it, we just didn't knock some down tonight, and we could have generated a few better shots. We had some good looks, but we also could have sustained it. That's what you're looking at. You want to get a good look a good majority of the time up and down the floor. Yes, we had some good looks, but we also didn't handle it well at times, either.

Orlando Robinson, Fresno State junior forward
On his approach heading into the game…
"After Wyoming, I just had to take a look at myself and get back in the gym. I was working through a couple of injuries and now I had to get back into the flow of things. That's something I did on the couple of days we had off and that's why I came out shooting it a little better today."
Â
On his play in the post…
"I knew it was going to one one-on-one to a certain point. Once I started getting doubled, I just tried to work for deeper touches so that they couldn't come and double-team me.
Next up: Fresno State will host UNLV on Wednesday and San Diego State on Saturday at the Save Mart Center.
