Fresno State’s Orlando Robinson had a game-best 25 points and 11 rebounds in the Bulldogs’ 53-46 loss to San Diego State in the MW quarterfinals.

LAS VEGAS – The No. 6-seeded Fresno State men's basketball team lost 53-46 to the No. 3-seeded San Diego State Aztecs in the quarterfinals of the 2022 Mountain West Championship late Thursday night in Las Vegas at the Thomas & Mack Center.

Fresno State (19-13) and San Diego State (22-7) battled in a tight contest – which neither team led by more than eight points – featuring two of the best defensive teams in the nation.

Fresno State junior forward Orlando Robinson scored a game-best 25 points with 11 rebounds for his 26th career double-double (10th this season) on 10-for-20 shooting, including a perfect 3-for-3 clip from beyond the 3-point arc.

This was Fresno State's eighth Quad 1 game this season.
Fresno State is now 8-9 all-time in MW Tournament games (3-4 in head coach Justin Hutson's tenure).
This was the third time Fresno State has been the No. 6 seed (2-3 record as No. 6 seed • 2-2 in Hutson's tenure).
Fresno State limited its opponents to fewer than 70 points in 30 of its 32 games this season.

Fresno State junior forward Orlando Robinson climbed into a tie for 19th on the Bulldogs' all-time scoring list with now 1,346 career points – equaling Tyler Johnson's total points from 2010-14.
