Jittakoat named MW Player of the Year

Pang Jittakoat earned the 15th conference player of the year award in the Fresno State women’s tennis program’s storied history.
TUCSON, Ariz. – Fresno State's Pang Jittakoat was named the 2022 Mountain West Women's Tennis Player of the Year, the conference office announced on Tuesday.
In addition to earning the MW's top honor, Jittakoat was named to the All-MW Singles and Doubles, along with freshman Matilde Magrini.
This is the 15th time in program history that Fresno State has had a Bulldog earn conference player of the year honors (fourth in Fresno State's first nine seasons in the Mountain West – all four coming in the last seven seasons).
Denise Dy is also just the second head coach in program history to coach a Bulldog to conference player of the year honors in each of their first two seasons at Fresno State.
In 2022, Fresno State has been ranked in the ITA's Top 75 in each of the last nine weeks, including a high of a No. 51 national ranking, and won the outright MW regular season championship.

- Pang Jittakoat was named the MW Player of the Week league-best three times (Feb. 23, April 6 & April 25).
- Fresno State junior Pang Jittakoat was also honored as ITA x Universal Tennis Division I Player of the Week on April 7 for helping the Bulldogs to wins over UNLV and then-No. 66 San Diego State with a perfect 4-0 record at No. 1 doubles and singles that weekend.
- Fresno State's Pang Jittakoat enters the MW Tournament 17-3 in singles matches this season (15-3 at No. 1 singles, including a perfect 7-0 in MW action) and owns an 11-match singles winning streak (all 11 in straight sets at the top position).
- In doubles, Pang Jittakoat is 15-6 overall this season (14-5 at No. 1 doubles), when playing together at No. 1 doubles with Magrini, the duo is 10-3 overall (7-3 in MW play).
- Matilde Magrini earned MW Freshman of the Week honors a conference-best five times during the season (Feb. 2, Feb. 16, April 13, April 20 and April 25).
- Fresno State's Matilde Magrini enters the MW Tournament 10-8 at No. 2 singles this season.
- In doubles, Matilde Magrini has 14 victories (14-6) and when playing together at No. 1 doubles, Magrini and Jittakoat are 10-3 overall (7-3 in MW play).
- Carolina Piferi is currently on a 14-match singles winning streak (7-0 in MW play).
- Cristina Flaquer produced a 15-5 singles record (7-2 in MW play).
- A.C. Hummel was 8-2 at No. 4 singles (5-0 in MW play).
- Carlotta Nonnis Marzano was one of two Bulldogs to collect a MW Player of the Week honor and went 11-4 in singles (4-1 in MW play).
- Jane Ellis and Ella Husrefovic were each 2-0 in singles in 2022 and brought energy to every match.
