Bulldogs fall in Fort Collins
1/7/2023 4:00:00 PM | Men's Basketball
Fresno State (6-9, 2-2 MW) was led by Moore, who added a team-high eight rebounds and a block.
Jemarl Baker chipped in 13 points, his fourth straight game in double figures, and Isaiah Hill recorded 11 points and dished out a team-leading six assists.
Colorado State (9-8, 1-3 MW) had four Rams in double figures led by 16 points apiece from Isaiah Stevens and Patrick Cartier.
How It Happened
A layup by Hill cut an early Colorado State lead down to two at 16-14, but a 17-5 run for the Rams put their lead up to 14Â before a layup from Jordan Campbell made it a 35-23 lead fro CSU heading into halftime.
With Colorado State extending their lead to as large as 19 (61-42), the 'Dogs cut the Rams' lead down to nine with a 10-0 run capped by a dunk from Moore with 6:59 to play.
Unfortunately for the 'Dogs, that was as close as they would get as CSU increased their lead to as large as 23 closing out the game on a 18-5 run.
Quotes
Justin Hutson, Fresno State head coach
On today's game....
"They were good tonight. You have to give them credit. But we weren't any good. You have to let everybody know we weren't Bulldogs tonight. We have to be better."
Â
On Cartier.....
"He kicked our butt in the first half, that's for sure. We gave him layups and then we didn't help on back screens. We have to be better prepared."
Â
On Isaih Moore.....
"He did a good job. He kept fighting tonight. We have to give him help on the shuffle screens and then he has to guard Cartier a little better in the first half than what he did. He let him get layup after layup. But the one thing that we're proud of is he kept fighting."
Up next
The 'Dogs stay on the road traveling to San Jose State (11-6, 2-2 MW) on Tuesday at 7 p.m. from Providence Credit Union Event Center.
