Bulldogs stumble against Aggies

LOGAN, Utah – The Fresno State volleyball team was defeated by the Utah State Aggies this afternoon with a final match score of 3-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Utah State took a strong, early lead in the first set of the match with a 15-10 advantage at the break. The Bulldogs added five kills but were not able to bounce back and fell 25-16. Fresno State picked up the pace in the second set, staying neck-and-neck with the Aggies through the break. Fresno State fell behind 17-11 but went on a 9-3 run to tie the set at 20 before the Aggies found a 25-23 victory. In the third set, Fresno State opened with five straight points including two kills and a service ace. Utah State recovered to tie the game at 11-11. From there the Bulldogs were not able to recover the lead and fell 25-18 in the set and 3-0 overall.

Fresno State returns to the Save Mart Center on Thursday at 6 p.m. PT to face San Diego State.

NOTES
- Head Coach Leisa Rosen's first recruit, Mya Sellers, made her first start of her collegiate career.
- Sellers earned a career-high three block assists, adding to her total of five in five sets played.
- Brooke Cowie added her 11th double-double and 19th for the Bulldogs this season with 28 assists and 11 digs.
- Addison Haluksa was in double digits in the kill category for the 16th time this season with 11 this afternoon. She has had 10+ kills in 17 out of 21.
