'Dogs defeat Fresno Pacific and Pacific in tri-meet

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State swim and dive team defeated Fresno Pacific and Pacific in a tri-meet on Friday night.Â
How it HappenedÂ
Fresno State had another dominant performance against Fresno Pacific and Pacific taking all but two events in the meet.Â
Mackenzie Hutler and Aliz Kalmar, won both of their individual events. Hutler in the 200 butterfly (2:02.25) and swimming a lifetime best in the 100 freestyle with a 51.19. Kalmar in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.33) and a lifetime best in the 200 breaststroke with a 2:16.45.Â
Five other 'Dogs finished in first place tonight, Sera Hanagan (400 IM), Laura Kalmar (1000 Free), Cheyanne Summers (100 Back), Julia Matney (100 Fly) and Madison Caserio (500 Free).Â
'Dogs didn't let up just yet, with multiple swimmers achieving lifetime best tonight. Freshman Kennedy McPhail is swiftly rising to the top with a lifetime best and second place finish in the 100 backstroke (57.32).Â
Fresno State finished strong, winning the last five events and going first through third in the 400 IM.Â
"We had some really great swims tonight, especially rebounding off the Nevada win," says Fresno State head coach Jeanne Fleck. "We decided to put some suits on and see what they can do…and we had a lot of lifetime best times."Â
NOTES:
Swim and Dive are on the road for the Utah Tech Invite and NAU Dive Invite on Nov.16- 18. 'Dogs are back home next year, January 12-13 to host Pepperdine in a sprint meet.Â
