'Dogs Rally another win in the Save Mart Center

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State women's basketball team Rallied in the Valley for another home win, against Sacramento State Saturday afternoon at the Save Mart Center, 68-47.Â
Tamia Stricklin would return to the court for the first time in over a year, after suffering a knee injury early last season. Stricklin recorded four points and four rebounds this afternoon. Mia Jacobs would record her second double-double this season with 15 points and 11 rebounds.Â
HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
Opening on low scoring through the first five minutes of play, 'Dogs found themselves down one. A layup by Sydney Dethman would give the 'Dogs an opening for a 8-0 run capped off by back-to-back threes by Keely Brown and Kylee Fox. A second chance three-pointer from Mia Jacobs would give the Bulldogs a seven point lead with less than two minutes remaining.Â
Fresno State would again fight for points to open the second quarter, scoring only four points in the first five minutes. Providing the Hornets with enough time to chip at the six-point lead, taking an 8-0 run to make the game within one, 19-18. A jumper by Stricklin would give the 'Dogs a three point lead, but an immediate three-pointer response by Sacramento's Hanson would see a tie game, 21-21. Bulldogs' would see a three-point lead to close out the first half with a fast break layup at the buzzer by Deajanae Harvey.Â
With only a three-point lead to hold the Hornets off, Fresno State would grab an 11-0 run minutes into the third quarter. Another quarter of three's by Franka Wittenberg, Fox and Brown extends the 'Dogs lead. A three-pointer by Fox secures a ten point lead for the Bulldogs. 'Dogs would bring nothing heat in the second half putting up 27 points in the third quarter. A layup by Brown brings the 'Dogs on the edge of a 20 point game closing out the third, 53-34.Â
Holding a 20 point lead throughout the last ten minutes of play would give the 'Dogs their seventh win this season.Â
The Hornets, led by Summah Hanson, who would record a double-double with 15 points and 16 rebounds. Hanson is the third player to record a double-double against the 'Dogs (Eastern Illinois McGlone, 19 pts, 12 rebounds) (Portland State's Ogele, 19 pts, 10 rebounds ). Hornets would pair up to the 'Dogs, also shooting 32% from the three (8-of-25).Â
