WACO, Texas - Fresno State senior jumping seat rider Sara Tuck has been named the National Collegiate Equestrian Association Flat Rider of the Month for her efforts in November. It is the first monthly honor for the Bulldogs on the season.
Â
Tuck was undefeated in the month of November, defeating three ranked opponents. All three of her wins were against ranked opponents, with two of them coming on the road in back-to-back days. The senior Bulldog defeated opponents from No. 8 Baylor, No. 6 Oklahoma State and No. 2 SMU.
Â
The Carmel, Calif. native also won two MOPs on the month. Tuck's MOP point against SMU was the final decision in the close meet, earning Fresno State's first win of the season and first win over a Top 2 team since the Spring of 2021. Her other two wins each came against Big 12 opponents.
Â
Wednesday's announcement marks the first time in her career earning a national rider of the month honor. She is the first Bulldog since Alex Dirickson in March of 2019 to earn the NCEA honor in the flat, and just the fifth in program history.
