Bulldogs finish fifth at Mountain West Championships

Fresno State's fifth-place finish as a team matches its best finish at the MW Championships and its 866 points scored are the most scored at the Championships surpassing its previous high of 829 set in 2021.
HOUSTON - The Fresno State swimming and diving team wrapped up the Mountain West Championships on Saturday with a program record set and a pair of third-place finishes to finish the meet in fifth place as a team.
The seventh program record set at the CRWC Nataorium this week, the 400 Free relay team of Athena Clayson, Eleonora Trentin, Samarah Melia, Wiktoria Dabrowska clocked a time of 3:20.59 for a second-place finish trailing only San Diego State by 0.38 seconds.
Clayson and Aliz Kalmar each took third in the 200 Back and 200 Breast, respectively, while diver Silvia Alessio finished seventh on the platform.
Three other Bulldogs placed in the top eight of their respective events as Mackenzie Hutler took sixth in the 200 Fly and Melia and Dabrowska finished seventh and eighth, respectively, in the 100 Free.
