'Dogs fall to TCU in opening round of Big 12 Championship

STILLWATER, Okla. - The No. 3-seeded Fresno State equestrian team fell to the No. 2 seed TCU in the first round of the Big 12 Championship on Friday, 15-5.Â
The Bulldogs drop to the consolation bracket of the championship, and will face No. 4 seed Baylor tomorrow morning in a battle for third place.

How it happened
The morning began with horsemanship as senior Emily Maul was the lone Bulldog to earn her point, outscoring her opponent 218-207.5 in the event.

Fresno State earned another point in the flat. Senior Sara Tuck won her point with a 218-213 ride.

In the reining, junior Julianne Kelley outscored her TCU opponent 213-210 to secure the third team point for the Bulldogs.

Fresno State won its most points of the meet in the fences as Ana Bertozzi and Taylor Holstead scored for the 'Dogs. Bertozzi won her point with a 264-254 ride. Holstead had the last matchup of the afternoon, and bested her opponent, 234-224.
