LAS VEGAS - The No. 10-seeded Fresno State women's tennis team defeated the No. 7-seeded Nevada Wolf Pack 4-2 on Wednesday in the first round of the 2023 Mountain West Championships at Darling Tennis Center in Las Vegas.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Fresno State (10-13) earned the doubles point with victories at the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles positions. Pang Jittakoat and Cristina Flaquer teamed up at No. 2 doubles to provide the clinching point for the early 1-0 lead over Nevada (9-10).
The Bulldogs then avenged last season's quarterfinal loss to the Wolf Pack by winning three singles battles.

The Bulldogs took a 3-0 over the Pack when Fresno State senior Carlotta Nonnis Marzano won in straight sets against Audrey Moutama (6-4, 6-3) on court six.
Nevada countered with victories at No. 2 and No. 3 singles despite an especially valiant effort and performance from Matilde Magrini in the second slot.
