Sophomore Mia Jacobs earns her third double-double of the season as a Bulldog with 15 points and 10 rebounds.Â
HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
Colorado State would get the ball moving first opening on a 7-0 run, before junior Sydney Dethman gets the Bulldogs on the board. Fresno State saw their first double-digit deficit early in the first quarter after back-to-back threes from the Rams. But, a quick set of three's by Taija Sta. Maria and Keely Brown to follow, open a 5-0 run for the Bulldogs. Â
A stronger start came from the Bulldogs as they opened the second quarter on a 8-2 run reaching within two of the Rams. Fresno State then missed the net for over four minutes of play. A scoring drought ended by a shot from downtown by Mia Jacobs. A jump shot in the paint by Sta. Maria and a second chance layup by Maria Konstantinidou in the last minute kept the 'Dogs within three going into the half, 30-27.Â
The next ten minutes proved to be tough for the 'Dogs, having scored their first field goal of the quarter in the last three minutes, off a layup in the paint by Franka Wittenberg. Wittenberg recorded five of the seven points with the final shot coming from the top of the key in the final minute. Colorado State held Fresno State to seven points.Â
Fresno State saw another fourth quarter surge outscoring the Rams 21-16. Bulldogs saw success from the foul line making the trip three times in the first five minutes going 6-of-6. Fresno State changes the pace holding the Ram scoreless for over three minutes as they chip the lead down. 'Dogs wrap up with their largest scoring run of the night 7-0 off a layup by Konstantinidou.Â
